Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek has everything one can ask for- great views, beautiful location, excellent nature and easy accessibility. It is a picturesque, perhaps the ultimate short trek and easily considered as one of the most scenic spot in the Himalayas. Pitched at the impressive altitude of 3,210 meters, it offers the majestic view of the snow covered Himalayan peaks, the mesmerizing Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Varaha Shikhar, and Lamjung Himal. Hiking up to Poon Hill to watch the sunrise over these stunning snow covered mountains is something to be treasured. It’s a fascinating spot encircled by a vast wildlife sanctuary and many rare birds, animals and flowers. Poon hill is also trekkers paradise, trek in the salubrious air, amidst the misty mountain trails, towering oak and rhododendrons. The mantle of green hangs all around- rocks covered with unusual moss and ferns, flowers and shrubs- foliage sprouting out of every conceivable nook and corner of the hillside. Ghorepani poon hill trek begins with a drive to Pokhara, a famous touristic city of Nepal. After one and half hour drive from Pokhara, we’ll reach Nayapul – from where we take our first gentle steps into the spellbinding Annapurna region. The trail descends steeply to Birethanti and you’re all set to reach Tikhedhunga village the same day. After that, we get going higher to Ghorepani village through a small magar village, Ulleri. Walking for several hours through the trail of stony steps at Ulleri can at times feel like never ending. Nonetheless, the breathtaking view that it offers along the journey to Ghorepani makes it worth the walk. From Ghorepani, you’ll need to start an early morning hike to reach the much awaited destination- Poon Hill.

The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is a 4 – 5 day hike in the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal. It takes a moderate level of fitness to complete, and the max elevation is 3,210 meters (so there’s no real risk of altitude sickness). Pokhara is the closest main access city to begin treks into the Annapurna range.

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, meet our representative and transfer to hotel, after getting to hotel, briefing about trip and evening free /overnight at hotel.

Day 2
athmandu Sightseeing

At your hotel in Kathmandu after breakfast meets the guide and drive to sightseeing destination.

Full day guided sightseeing around Kathmandu city- Historical Durbar Square ancient Patan & Bhaktapur city area, Pasupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Swyambhunath Stupa which will take you to visit Nepal’s most popular attractions and lunch break will be during the tour at restaurant. /overnight at hotel.

Day 3
Kathmandu to Pokhara

From kathmandu we have difference option to get to pokhara. By Bus,Flight, or Private Car. After breakfast, drive to Pokhara, check in hotel, lunch and late afternoon boating in Phewa Lake visit Taal Barahi temple and evening free.. /overnight at hotel.

Day 4
Pokhara to Naya Pul and trek to Ulleri

The trek starts from Naya Pul, a one and a half hours drive from Pokhara. The first part of the trek is an unpaved road that winds through a green valley with rice paddies and terraced farmland. Crossing small bridges over waterfalls, the trail leeds you to Gurung villages with colorful houses where the inhabitants greet you friendly. After a couple of steep stairs up hill, you reach the Magar village of Ulleri with lovely guesthouses from where you can see the first glimpse of the snowy peak of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

Day 5
Ulleri to Ghorepani

The second day the trail continues to climb through cultivated fields and follows a gorge of bamboo and Rodondendron forests. The Bhurrungdi Khola flows below into large waterfalls and turquoise blue swimming holes. Now and than shepherds with their herd of sheep and donkeys cross the trail. At the end of the day you reach the village Ghorepani with a lot of proper guesthouses and hotels with all the facilities you need and pretty mountain views. Ghorepani means ‘horse water’. The village is a former watering stop for the mule caravans transporting goods between Pokhara and Jomsom.

Day 6
Ghorepani to Poonhill /Pokhara

Wake up before dawn the following day, for a early morning one hour’s climb under a sky full of stars, up to the view point of Poon Hill. From a 360 degrees view you see in one hour of time how the light of the rising sun changes the colors of the mountain range around you from red, pink, golden, yellow to white. The panorama stretches from Daulhagirir 1, Tukuche, to Nilgiri, Annapurna South,

Annapurna 1 and Hiunchuli.

Return to Ghorepani for breakfast And trek Down hill all the way to Nayapul and drive to pokhara.

Day 7
Drive/Fly back to kathmandu

After breakfast at hotel drive back to Kathmandu, and the rest of the evening is free for walking/shopping in the Thamel area. /overnight at hotel.

Day 8
Final Departure

Breakfast and transfer to airport for final departure.
